Australia 2012 Solar Eclipse Experience

Join Rick Brown in Australia for a sunrise eclipse
from the shores of Northeast Australia overlooking the Great Barrier Reef

I'm Rick Brown and I'm an eclipse chaser.

Years ago I started arranging for my friends to join me on eclipse chases and things kept growing as my circle of eclipse chasing friends continued to grow.

On November 14th, 2012, I hope to have 52 lucky eclipse chasers join me in Port Douglas, in the fantastic northern part of Australia, for a fantastic experience that of course includes the Total Solar Eclipse. Lasting just a bit over 2 minutes, this sunrise spectacle will be a wonderful sight to behold. For me, this will be my 13th Total Solar Eclipse, and my 12th tour. I am very excited to be able to add Australia to the countries that I have taken people to. Last February, I traveled there, and spent a week putting this plan together. Once again, I think we have a winner!!!!

There is one thing about this trip that is quite different from other tours I have done. Let me explain... Australia is a very large country, and there are so many wonderful things to see there. Apart from the Port Douglas area, a great resort town, there is Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Ayers Rock... the list is very long, and quite diverse. Many people might want to see the big cities...others might want the outback. Some will want fancy hotels, others might want to sleep under the stars. There is no way that I could come up with a tour that would satisfy everyone's taste or budget.

What I have done is put a tour together that will totally encompass the eclipse, and all the nature of Queensland, including some real Australian experiences, scuba/snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, Beach, rest and relaxation, rainforest tours, wildlife experiences, and other surprises.

The trip includes 5 nights/6days in Port Douglas. If you are on a limited budget, or short of time, you can simply do the eclipse tour. I encourage you to add on to the tour at the beginning or the end, and give Australia the opportunity to delight your senses. Either way, you will have a great experience, and I am looking forward to another great trip Down Under.
